Once an account has been referred to Merion, the most reliable course is to make payment through us, quoting your reference number. This ensures the payment is recorded against the correct account and that recovery activity stops promptly.
Paying the original creditor directly after a referral can cause delays — the payment may take time to be reported back to us, and contact may continue in the meantime simply because the account still shows as outstanding on our side.
If you have already paid the original creditor, that is not a problem — just let us know straight away. See the article on what to do if you have already paid.
