Financial hardship can hit anyone — illness, job loss, a relationship breakdown, family violence. If you're affected, let us know. We treat these conversations sensitively and confidentially, and we'll talk through your options.
Tell us early
Contact us as soon as you can and tell us what's going on — you don't need to go into detail you're not comfortable with. Letting us know means we can pause pressure while we look at sensible options together, rather than continuing as if nothing has changed.
What we can do
Depending on your circumstances, we may be able to agree a realistic payment arrangement you can actually keep, give you time, or pause contact while you get advice or support. We'll be straight with you about what we can and can't do on a given account.
Free, independent help
You don't have to face this alone, and you don't have to pay for help:
- National Debt Helpline — free, confidential financial counselling — 1800 007 007 (ndh.org.au).
- 1800RESPECT — family violence and sexual assault support — 1800 737 732.
- Lifeline — 24/7 crisis support — 13 11 14.
- Need an interpreter? Ask us, or call TIS National on 131 450. For the National Relay Service, see accesshub.gov.au.
If you're affected by family violence
Tell us if family violence is part of your situation. We'll handle it sensitively, take care with how and when we contact you, and point you to specialist support. Your safety comes first.
